Born Gabby Francis Uko in Dakar, Senegal, and with Nigerian roots, his journey in music began at 17. His adolescence in Cotonou, Benin, played a pivotal role in defining his musical style, which he honed further upon relocating to Lagos, Nigeria. In 2002, Francis Brio's career was notably marked by his participation in a Gabonese all-star track against HIV/AIDS, performing in a UNICEF concert alongside legendary acts like Angelique Kidjo, Awilo Longomba, and Extra Musica.
